Your brain is always getting information from your senses. In fact, it's so tuned in to sensory input that you can feel like you're experiencing something simply by reading about it. Have you ever looked at a picture of food and gotten hungry? Or felt as though you could hear the waves by seeing a picture of the ocean?

If you pay close attention, you'll notice that you can probably hear the fan on your computer, feel the shirt on your back, and see the side of your nose out of the corner of your eye. Noticing details like this is the first step to making your writing more vivid.
