In this lesson, you learned that children need lots of active play to develop the large and small motor skills they will use throughout the rest of their lives. Many children in the United States are not as active as they should be, and this has some parents and pediatricians worried. Children who spend many hours in front of a screen tend to be heavier than active children, and their muscle coordination is not as developed.
For this week’s activity, you will research the arguments for and against allowing young children to watch TV and for limiting what children watch. Then you will write your opinion on the subject and give reasons for your opinion.
