Another item to manage is the automatic teller card. If you make a withdrawal, record it in your checkbook immediately. Remember anything that is shown in your statement must also be included in your checkbook. The reverse is also true -- anything in your checkbook should also show in your statement. This is why any transaction that takes money from your checkbook needs to be recorded. Failure to keep good checking account records can cause confusion.
To show an automatic teller card transaction in your check register, simply use the code ATM and the description of cash. Be sure to subtract the amount form your checking account balance.
