Draft a headline, slogan, and call to action for your campaign, and begin choosing art.

The next step in our design process is to generate ideas for the content of our ad. Coming up with an enticing headline, a powerful slogan, an inspiring call to action, and an engaging photo will make all the difference in your final layout. Follow these steps to help you build some of the pieces we will assemble into a design in the next lesson.

Headline Think of a short (3-10 word) statement that will get the most emphasis in your design and grab the reader's attention. It can be witty, shocking, questioning, or entertaining, but it needs to help readers understand your purpose and draw them in to the rest of the ad.
Slogan Slogans can be longer and more detailed than your headline, but they should still be punchy and memorable. This is your chance to really define and promote your stance on the issue, and to convince others to join your cause.
Call to Action If your campaign sucessfully appeals to your target audience, they'll be inspired to do something about your cause. A clear, reasonable call to action can help satisfy that desire. Get them to go to a website, sign a petition, change their habits, or even change their mind.
Art and Photography Find art and images that match your message, grab viewer's attention, and communicate strong emotions or feelings that support your cause. You may well have to search through hundreds of photos to find the right one, or even create a composite or an original work to really capture your concept.
