When you stand on one foot, you exert more pressure on the ground underneath than when you stand with two feet. This is because when you stand on one foot, your entire body weight is pushed into the ground through the area of one foot; when you stand on two feet, the same weight is pushed into the ground through an area twice as large (two feet). Pressure is a force that depends on the area of contact.
Pressure (PSI - pounds per square inch) is measured by dividing the force by the area of contact.
