To become fit or to stay fit, your FREQUENCY of exercise should be at least 3 to 5 times a week.
Allowing your body to rest between workouts is essential as your muscles need time to rest so atrophy (decrease in size) doesn't occur. This doesn't mean you can't work out back-to-back days, but rather that you should not work out the same muscle groups on consecutive days.
Below is an example of what a weekly routine could look like.
| Monday | Tuesday | Wednesday | Thursday | Friday | Saturday | Sunday |
| Lower Body | Upper Body | Cardio | Rest | Lower Body | Upper Body | Cardio |
It's not recommended to work out more than six days a week. It's beneficial to give your entire body a day of rest.

If you already participate in a schedule, what does yours look like? After learning about necessary rest for your muscles, do you need to make any modification or changes to your routine?
