You know that every day has twenty-four hours and that every week has 168. What are you doing with your time? When the day or week is over, do you look back with a sense of accomplishment for all you have done or with a sense of wonder thinking, where did all the time go?

In this lesson, you will examine an important strategy for taking control of your time—scheduling.  A schedule is a time management strategy for accomplishing your goals.  It guides your decisions about time and allows you to work toward your goals by arranging time according to your priorities.  Your schedule provides a process for meeting your goals by following lists of planned events and times.

Time is a limited resource.  The long list of things that you must do, should do, and want to do is limited by the amount of time you have available.  As you begin to examine the scheduling process, you will find that a good schedule will help you keep a good balance between those things you must do to reach your goals, those things you should do to maintain your health, and those things you enjoy.
