Yesterday, we learned that we will be writing a descriptive poem about weather this week. We will be describing a weather event to someone who has never experienced it before. Did you decide which weather event you will write about? It should be something that you are very familiar with. You will need to describe it using sensory details, which are details you notice using one of your five senses. Here are some weather events you might want to think about.

Descriptive Poem Ideas
- Snow Storm
- Blizzard
- Sleet or Freezing Rain
- Hail
- Thunderstorm
- Hurricane
- Tornado
- Drought
- Dust Storm
- Flood
Once you have picked your weather event, it's time to start brainstorming some ideas for your poem. You will complete a graphic organizer today to help you think of sensory details for your poem. Click on the Activity button below to view your graphic organizer. When you are finished, please keep this in a safe place. You will need it again tomorrow when you build your rough draft.
