Look at the circles. The first one is sliced in halves--two halves. The second one is sliced into thirds--three thirds, and the last one is sliced into fourths--four fourths.
Look at the thirds. How many thirds are yellow? One third, or \(\frac{1}{3}\), is shaded yellow.
Question
How many fourths would you need to shade to look like one half ( \(\frac{1}{2}\) )?
You would need to shade two fourths ( \(\frac{2}{4}\) ) to look like one half.
Look at the two circles in your Lesson Notes. Shade \(\frac{1}{2}\) blue and two fourths green. Write a sentence to compare both circles.
