Research Your Local Government

Visit your local government offices.

1.  Visit a local government office. This may be your local town or city hall, or a comparable building. Walk through and notice who is there and what they are doing. Make a list in your Main Lesson Book of the people and their jobs. How is your local government run?

2.  If you have the chance, talk to or interview some of the people who work there. Ask them what they do and how the government is run. Ask them what their part is in the government. Write their answers in your Main Lesson Book.

3.  Go to the library or town hall and research who represents you and your family locally, statewide and nationally. Write the names of these people in your Main Lesson Book.
