Mia has 14 pieces of candy, and Ruth has 9 pieces. How many pieces of candy do they have altogether? Let’s use ten frames in a place-value chart to find out!

Tens and Ones place-value-chart: In the tens section: 1 ten-frame with 10 red dots, and another ten frame with 4 red dots. In the ones section: no ten-frame.
