Think about what you have learned about nouns, verbs, and pronouns. Remember, a noun is a person, place, thing, or idea. A pronoun takes the place of a noun. A verb is an action word or “to be” word. Verbs can also link words and help actions.
They watched the dogs dig holes outside.
They (pronoun) watched (verb) the dogs (noun) dig (verb) holes (noun) outside (noun).
