This week, we looked at identifying differences between formal and informal language.
- Formal language is used to talk to adults or for being professional. Use larger words and avoid slang and contractions.
- Informal language is used to talk to a friend. It can contain slang, abbreviations, and contractions.
- Think about your audience and why you are writing or talking before deciding on formal or informal language.
