Red Cloud was of the Sioux Tribe in the Great Plains region. He lived from 1822 to 1909.

Red Cloud was a chief and leader of the Oglala Lakota tribe. He fought against the United States in a series of conflicts between 1866 and 1868 known as Red Cloud's War. Red Cloud fought to protect his people’s land and won battles against the white men who tried to build forts along the trail.
FUN FACT: Red Cloud was the most photographed Native American of his time.
