Start by visiting Independence Hall and seeing the Liberty Bell. Both are located in Independence National Historical Park. The Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution were both signed in Independence Hall.

You can't miss the Gettysburg National Military Park. This is where the Battle of Gettysburg took place. There are several memorials and American Civil War artifacts to see.

Valley Forge Park Canons

Valley Forge National Historical Park is another famous place to visit. This was an important place during the Revolutionary War. You can see George Washington's headquarters; he and the Continental Army stayed here for six months.

There are other places to visit besides famous historical sites. Do you like chocolate? Hersheypark is a family theme park centered around chocolate.

The Franklin Institute is a great science museum you can visit that was named after Benjamin Franklin. Parents and kids alike will really enjoy this museum.

Another great museum is the Please Touch Museum. It was created for children ages 3-12, and you can touch everything, unlike most museums where you can only look but can't touch.

If you want to see more of nature, you will enjoy the Delaware Water Gap. It is between the borders of Pennsylvania and New Jersey where the Delaware River cuts through the Appalachian Mountains. Families enjoy rafting, swimming, hiking, fishing, and rock climbing there.
