What's the Difference?
What are goods and services?
Goal:
Goal:
Goods are tangible objects that people want. A tangible object is something someone can touch and hold. Goods are items you can buy, such as food, clothing, toys, and furniture.
Services are actions people do for other people. Teaching, driving a bus, delivering mail, and fixing cars are all examples of services.
In the picture above, the goods are the shirts. They are the tangible items a person wants.
Question
Can you figure out what the service is?
The service in the picture is the delivery of the shirt. Someone is providing a service to deliver the good to the person who wanted it.

Think about the ice cream shop from the earlier lessons.
What is the shop providing, a good or a service? It is providing both. The good you are selling is ice cream. That is the tangible object that people want and can eat.
But what if people want to have birthday parties in your ice cream shop? You would then be providing a service to them--the service of hosting a birthday party. This would involve serving your ice cream (a good), but it would also mean that you provide the entertainment, games, and other services to the customer.
What if you delivered your ice cream? You would then be providing another service to your customers.
