Today, we will identify syllables using our -le words. To help us read and spell words, we can chunk them into smaller pieces. We use syllables to help chunk words. A syllable is the pronunciation of a vowel sound when the word is said aloud. There are several different strategies to find syllables. You can tap a pencil, put a hand under your chin, or clap your hands to find a syllable. Sometimes, there are tips to help us find syllables. In words with an -le ending, the last syllable is often a consonant and -le.Let's look at finding the syllables in our -le words this week. After reading the examples, see if you can identify the syllables. To check your answer, click on the word to see the syllables.
