Module 32: Trees- Science 1B - Course Guide


Module Overview:

In this module, students will learn the annual cycle of deciduous trees, compare them to other plants, learn about the parts of a deciduous tree, and explore how seeds are spread. They will then learn about the types and structure of evergreen trees, compare them to deciduous trees, and determine which products are made from trees before going on a tree product scavenger hunt.

1 If you live in a region with deciduous and evergreen trees, explore the area and look up close at the bark, roots, leaves, and needles of the tree. Note how the roots transport the nutrients from the ground to the leaves. Explore a local nursery to examine trees at different life stages.
