Learning Coach Notes:

Lesson # Lesson Title Notes
1 24.1 Letter Qq
  • This is a review week so there are no new spelling words assigned. Your student may practice any misspelled words from the last six weeks, if you choose.
  • As your student reads “The Queen” ask them the following questions: What did the queen ask the boy to do? What did the queen give the boy? How much is 4 quarters worth? Draw a picture of your favorite part of the story and write about it using your sight words.
  • While your student is practicing writing the letter Qq have them say out loud how they are writing the letter.
  • During Independent Reading time have your Kindergartner read the story they chose out loud so that you can hear errors and correct them if needed.
2 24.2 Letter Qq
  • Use the sight word flashcards from this lesson daily with your student. Mix them up, show them the words and ask them to read the sight word. Next do not show them the word, but say the word and ask them to spell the word.
  • During Independent Reading time have your Kindergartner read the story they chose out loud so that you can hear errors and correct them if needed.
3 24.3 Letter Qq
  • As your student practices writing sight words have them spell the words as they write each letter in the word and then read the word when they are done writing it.
  • During Independent Reading time have your Kindergartner read the story they chose out loud so that you can hear errors and correct them if needed.
4 24.4 Letter Qq
  • During Independent Reading time have your Kindergartner read the story they chose out loud so that you can hear errors and correct them if needed.
