Module 24: Heroes in Our Communities- Social Studies 3 - Course Guide


Module Overview:

In this module, students will learn to identify how others define the word hero, develop a personal definition of hero, determine career options that are heroic, identify and describe heroic deeds of military heroes, and identify and describe the deeds of contemporary heroes (Todd Beamer, Chesley Sullenberger, etc.).

1 Heroes After completing this lesson, ask your student to explain the characteristics of a hero, and based on those characteristics ask them to name people they feel meet those characteristics.
