Module Overview:
In this module students will use the numbers zero to nine. Students will group and count similar items and skip count by 2. Students will write numerals. Students will fill in missing numbers when counting by 1.

1  From Zero to Nine  From Zero to Nine: Extend this lesson by having your student practice adding 0 to 9 using a deck of cards. Remove the face cards. Tell your student that a joker is zero. Shuffle the cards. Flipup 2 cards and have your student add the numbers together. If you flip up two cards that equal more than 9, skip them and flip again. 
2  Grouping and Counting  Extend this lesson by having your student sort objects into groups based on common attributes. Then have them count what is in each group they made by 2’s. 
3  Name That Numeral  Extend this lesson by having your student use various writing utensils to write the numbers 0 to 9. They can use crayons, markers, colored pencils, and write rainbow numerals. 
4  Number the Bones

When a student starts a lesson ask them questions to check for prior knowledge and understanding and to review concepts being taught. At the end of the lesson ask the questions again to see if their answer changes.
