Learning Coach Notes:

Lesson # Lesson Title Notes
1 30.1 Wh Digraph Take some time this week to review with your learner the Words of the Week from the prior five modules. The Words of the Week Book is a fantastic resource to help your learner practice. Students have no new spelling words this week during the review. Instead, use the time to ensure mastery of Words of the Week and vocabulary words. After the introduction of wh, you will also see the digraph represented with /wh/ to show it is a digraph.
2 30.2 Wh Digraph Students will work with an informational text today. Nonfiction texts can be more difficult to comprehend than fiction texts. Encourage your learner to spend additional time listening to the nonfiction text to help with their understanding.
3 30.3 Wh Digraph Allow adequate time for your learner to write the middle of their story. It may be beneficial to take a small break right before the writing activity so that your learner has the focus needed for writing. Encourage your child to use the Words of the Week Book this week to practice words already learned.
4 30.4 Wh Digraph Help your learner continue to make connections with the wh digraph by pointing it out in books you are reading together. As your learner continues to work with plurals, gently correct their grammatical mistakes when speaking. Plurals and verb tenses are common errors at this age. This is also the ideal age to offer support and correction so that poor habits are not formed.
5 30.5 Wh Digraph Your learner will have a short review video before demonstrating their understanding of the concepts and skills learned this week. Guide your learner through this lesson, but refrain from providing answers. Your child’s teacher will use this lesson to understand how well your child is learning.

Module Guiding Questions:
