Lesson # Lesson Title Notes
1 Graphing on the Coordinate Plane Ask your student to demonstrate how to graph on a coordinate plane.
2 Identifying Points on a Coordinate Plane In their math notebook, have your student describe how to find a missing point when graphing a shape on the coordinate plane.
3 Problem-Solve Using the Coordinate Plane In their math notebook, have your student explain how a coordinate plane can help in the real world.
4 Classifying Quadrilaterals In their math notebook, have your student explain what a quadrilateral is and how quadrilaterals are classified.
5 Common Quadrilateral Attributes Have your student explain the characteristics quadrilaterals have in common.
6 Symmetry In their math notebook, have your student explain what symmetry is.
7 Polygons In their math notebook, have your student answer the following questions: What is a polygon? How can prefixes help identify polygons? How do you identify the different types of polygons?
8 Hierarchy of Quadrilaterals In their math notebook, have your student describe the hierarchy of quadrilaterals.
9 Regular and Irregular Polygons In their math notebook, have your student explain the difference between regular and irregular polygons.
10 Lines of Symmetry In their math notebook, have your student explain how to identify lines of symmetry in polygons.

Module Guiding Questions:

When a student starts a lesson ask them questions to check for prior knowledge and understanding and to review concepts being taught. At the end of the lesson ask the questions again to see if their answer changes.

Module Suggested Read Aloud Books:

Take time to read to your student or have them read aloud to you. Read a different book each day. While reading the book point out concepts being taught. You may purchase these books or find them at your local library. Suggested things to discuss while reading the book:

  • What is the main idea?
  • What are three things new you learned?
  • How does this book relate to what you are learning about?
