Module 30: Sound and Motion-Science 1B - Course Guide


Module Overview:

In this module, students will observe sounds around them and identify them as soft or loud and high- or low-pitched sounds. They will understand that sound travels in waves, can cause vibrations, and understand hos sound travels. They will also observe movements people and objects can make, as well as the connection between vibrations, sound, and motion.

Take some time to apply what your student is learning to the real world. Suggested outings are below.

1 Take your student to nearby railroad tracks, highways, or construction sites to observe motion and sounds on a larger scale. At home, practice closing your eyes and observing how the sound waves from your voice act differently in the shower, a hallway, and in a room with curtains and carpeting.
