Module Overview:

In this module, students will define what imports and exports are and give examples of each. Students will define a traditional system and give an example of a tribe that has this system today. Students will define a command system and give an example of a society that has this system today. Students will define a market system and give an example of a society that has this system today. Students will define currency exchange and apply it.

1 Imports and Exports In their Social Studies notebook have your student explain and/or define the following: imports, exports, trade, and explain international trade. Research your state to see what goods they produce that they export to other countries write your findings in your Social Studies notebook.
2 Traditional System In their Social Studies notebook have your student explain and/or define the following: traditional system, tribe, traditions, traditional economy, and describe an example of a traditional economy today.
3 Command System In their Social Studies notebook have your student explain and/or define the following: command system, communism, distribution, explain a command economy, and give examples of places in the world that have a command economy.
4 Market System In their Social Studies notebook have your student explain and/or define the following: market system, free enterprise, competition, describe a market economy and give examples of a country that is one, and list advantages and disadvantages of a market economy.
5 Currency Exchange In their Social Studies notebook have your student explain and/or define the following: currency, exchange, exchange rate, and describe currency from other countries.

Module Guiding Questions:

When a student starts a lesson ask them questions to check for prior knowledge and understanding and to review concepts being taught. At the end of the lesson ask the questions again to see if their answer changes.
