|---|---|---|
11.1 Letter Oo | The new letter this week is the letter Oo. Reinforce with your learner that this is a vowel. Vowel sounds can be harder to learn. Give your child extra time to practice proper pronunciation using the videos and lesson content. Continue to use the Sounds Book every day to practice the letter Oo and to review all the letter sounds learned so far.
11.2 Letter Oo | In this lesson, your learner will begin working with CVC words that have the /o/ sound in the middle. They will listen to a word and build the sounds to create the word. Encourage your learner to read as many words as they can independently in the activities. Students will practice their Words of the Week by writing them in shaving cream. The directions in the slideshow will provide detailed steps for using a baking sheet to contain the shaving cream. Additionally, if your learner has texture concerns, see the end of the slideshow for an alternate way to complete the activity.
11.3 Letter Oo | Students will learn many words with the short o sound in them. Students will isolate the beginning and middle /o/sounds in words by sorting words they hear. Students will learn about comprehension questions with the Module Story. Students will practice vocabulary words and handwriting skills.
11.4 Letter Oo | In this lesson, learners will practice identifying the ending sounds in CVC words with /o/ in them. Then, they will use modeling clay to form the letter Oo. What other letters can your learner make? A flashcard activity will help your child create words using clay letters. Then, students will listen to the Module Story and practice vocabulary words. Students will learn more about opinions while watching a video. As needed, help your learner follow the instructions to complete their opinion-writing activity.
11.5 Letter Oo | In this lesson, learners will show what they learned this week. Guide your learner through this lesson but refrain from providing answers. Your child’s teacher will use this lesson to understand how well your child is learning.
