Learning Coach Notes:
Lesson # Lesson Title Notes

1 Adding Like Fractions During the practice in this lesson sit with your student and have them talk you through how they will solve each problem before they click to get the answer to each problem. In their Math notebook have them write the steps to adding like fractions.
2 Adding Mixed Numbers During the practice in this lesson sit with your student as they go through each practice problem and solve them. Do not have them click to see the answer until they have solved the problem and explained how they got their answer.
3 Improper Fractions in Mixed Numbers During the practice in this lesson sit with your student as they go through each practice problem and solve them. Do not have them click to see the answer until they have solved the problem and explained how they got their answer.
4 Adding Unlike Fractions In this lesson have your student complete the practice activity first before looking at the answer key. Be sure to monitor this. When they check their answers using the key have them circle what they got wrong and talk about why they got it wrong and make corrections.
5 Subtracting Like Fractions During the practice in this lesson sit with your student as they go through each practice problem and solve them. Do not have them click to see the answer until they have solved the problem and explained how they got their answer.
6 Subtracting Unlike Fractions During the practice in this lesson sit with your student as they go through each practice problem and solve them. Do not have them click to see the answer until they have solved the problem and explained how they got their answer. In their Math notebook have your student write down the steps for subtracting unlike fractions.
7 Subtracting Mixed Numbers During the practice in this lesson sit with your student as they go through each practice problem and solve them. Do not have them click to see the answer until they have solved the problem and explained how they got their answer. In their Math notebook have your student write the steps involved in subtracting Mixed Numbers.
8 Subtracting Improper Fractions During the practice in this lesson sit with your student as they go through each practice problem and solve them. Do not have them click to see the answer until they have solved the problem and explained how they got their answer. In their Math notebook have your student write the steps involved in subtracting improper fractions.
9 Dividing Fractions Using Reciprocals During the practice activities in this lesson sit with your student as they go through each practice problem and solve them. Do not have them click to see the answers until they have solved the problem and explained how they got their answer. Have your student make a chart titled Steps in Dividing Fractions and recording the steps on the chart. The steps are found on page 6 of this lesson. When finished have them place the chart in a location where they can refer to it as needed.
10 Dividing Fractions Using Modeling In this lesson have your student complete the practice activity first before looking at the answer key. Be sure to monitor this. When they check their answers using the key have them circle what they got wrong and talk about why they got it wrong and make corrections.
11 Dividing Whole Numbers into Fractions Make a chart listing the steps to Dividing Whole numbers into fractions. Have your student put it someplace where they can refer to it as needed.
12 Dividing Mixed Numbers Have your student pull out the chart with the steps to Dividing Whole Numbers into Fractions and compare it with the steps for Dividing Mixed Numbers. Discuss the steps and why they would be similar. During the practice activities in this lesson sit with your student as they go through each practice problem and solve them. Do not have them click to see the answers until they have solved the problem and explained how they got their answer.
Module Guiding Questions:
When a student starts a lesson ask them questions to check for prior knowledge and understanding and to review concepts being taught. At the end of the lesson ask the questions again to see if their answer changes.
