Module Overview:

In this module, students will learn about temperate and tropical rainforests. They will compare and contrast the types of plants that grow in each and the animal adaptations required to survive in each. Students will also study the layers of a forest, including the canopy, understory, and floor, as well as the plants, animals, and ecosystem that can be found on forest floors

1 Take your student on a walk in a local park or forest. Point out the layers of the forest and observe what is going on in each layer. Discuss how the plants are different in each layer and where different animals can be found. Look for foods available to animals in the setting.
